Easy-to-make Meringue Christmas Trees

Christmas is right around the corner, and now is the perfect time to gather all your favorite holiday recipes. But why not try something new and something different this year, like this stunningly beautiful Meringue Christmas Trees?

Ingredients

  • 4 Egg Whites
  • 1 1/3 Cups Sugar
  • 1/4 Tbsp Salt
  • Little Vinegar
  • Green Food Coloring
  • Pinch of Salt

The Process

Preheat the oven at 150 F. Firstly, separate the egg whites from the egg yolks. Then, put the egg whites into a bigger bowl and leave them to warm up at room temperature. Use a hand mixer and beat up the egg whites until they become foamy. Add the salt and the vinegar and mix until they the egg whites become firm. Gradually add the sugar and mix it for another 7 minutes, until it becomes shiny and firm. Add the food coloring and give it another good mix, until the mixture becomes green. Pour it into a syringe and squeeze it onto a sheet covered with backing paper by first flicking a wide circle, then a smaller, and finally a small at the top. Bake it for 2 hours, and when they are done decorate them with stars and colorful crumbs.
