French Toast is an Easy Way to Make Brunch Happen

French toast is that classic breakfast treat that you don’t necessarily have every day, but when you do, you savor every bite. French toast is actually really easy to make, and you can even use old stale bread which means that you’d be making less food waste. With only three main ingredients required, this french toast is a slam dunk.

Recipe

  1. Start by slicing your bread into equal pieces if you’re using a whole loaf.
  2. In a shallow dish or large shallow bowl, mix together 2 eggs, 2/3 cup of whatever type of milk you have, as well as any additional flavorings. These can be nutmeg, cinnamon, vanilla extract, cloves, etc.
  3. Heat up a skillet or griddle over medium-high heat and put some butter on it.
  4. Place each slice of bread into the egg mixture and make sure to coat each side.
  5. Put the slice on the pan or griddle and cook on each side for a few minutes until they’re golden.
  6. Keep them in the oven on a low temperature to keep them warm while you make the rest so you can serve them hot.
  7. Dab on some butter or whipped cream, along with the classic maple syrup and you’re ready for brunch!
