If you’re a fan of fruity snacks but want to skip the artificial colors and flavors, making your own fruit roll-ups at home is a delicious and healthier alternative. These homemade fruit roll-ups are simple to make and packed with natural goodness. Here’s how to make them.

Ingredients:

  • 2 cups ripe fruit (such as strawberries, mangoes, or berries)
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1-2 tablespoons honey or maple syrup (optional, depending on the sweetness of the fruit)

Instructions:

  1. Preheat your oven to the lowest temperature setting. This is typically around 140°F (60°C) or the “warm” setting.
  2. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or a silicone baking mat.
  3. Wash and chop the fruit into small pieces, removing any pits, stems, or seeds.
  4. Place the chopped fruit in a blender or food processor and blend until smooth.
  5. If desired, add the lemon juice and sweetener (honey or maple syrup) to the fruit puree and blend again until well combined.
  6. Pour the fruit puree onto the prepared baking sheet and spread it out evenly with a spatula. Aim for a thickness of about 1/8 inch.
  7. Place the baking sheet in the preheated oven and bake for 4-6 hours, or until the fruit puree is set and no longer sticky to the touch.
  8. Remove the baking sheet from the oven and let the fruit sheet cool completely.
  9. Once cooled, use a sharp knife or kitchen scissors to cut the fruit sheet into strips or desired shapes.
  10. Roll each strip tightly and wrap it in parchment paper or plastic wrap to keep it fresh.
  11. Store the homemade fruit roll-ups in an airtight container at room temperature for up to a week.
