Beef Stroganoff is a classic comfort dish that combines tender beef, savory mushrooms, and a creamy sauce, all served over a bed of egg noodles. It’s a wonderful mix of flavors and textures that will be a delight for everyone. Here’s a simple recipe to recreate this hearty meal at home.

  • 1 pound of beef sirloin or tenderloin, thinly sliced
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 onion, finely chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 8 ounces of mushrooms, sliced
  • 1 cup of beef broth
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 teaspoon Dijon mustard
  • 1 cup of sour cream
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • Fresh parsley, chopped, for garnish
  • Cooked egg noodles, for serving

  1. In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium-high heat. Add the thinly sliced beef and cook until browned on all sides, about 3-4 minutes. Remove the beef from the skillet and set aside.
  2. In the same skillet, add chopped onion and minced garlic. Sauté until the onions are translucent, about 3 minutes. Add sliced mushrooms to the skillet and cook until they are soft and golden brown, about 5 minutes.
  3. Pour in beef broth, Worcestershire sauce, and Dijon mustard. Stir well to combine, scraping up any browned bits from the bottom of the skillet. Return the cooked beef to the skillet and simmer the mixture for about 5-7 minutes, allowing the flavors to meld together.
  4. Reduce the heat to low and stir in sour cream until it is fully incorporated and the sauce is creamy. Season with salt and pepper to taste. Serve the beef stroganoff over cooked egg noodles, garnished with chopped fresh parsley.
