It’s often stated that food is the key to the heart. But date night doesn’t have to mean going out and spending loads of money. You can recreate the 5-star restaurant vibe at home and impress your date with a Michelin star-worthy 3-course meal. Here are some ideas to get you started.

Starter

You ideally want something light yet super tasty. An easy option with great results is an antipasti spread of olives, pickles, cheeses, and crackers. This kind of ‘help yourself’ starter can help ease any tension and nerves at the start of the date.

Main

A simple yet effective main that’s sure to impress is steak with some tasty sides. Go all out and get some high-quality cuts of meat that will fry up well. Alongside this, you could rustle up some simple yet satisfying herby potatoes. Just boil some potatoes and once cooked add to the pan some butter, dried parsley, and thyme as well as seasoning. Have some steamed veg of your choice to accompany the steak and potatoes.

Dessert

A fancy meal wouldn’t be complete without a sweet treat to finish it off. For something delicious but not too heavy, try poaching various fruits with spices and sugar and serving with ice cream.
