How Do You Use a French Press?

If you know your way around coffee, you’re probably familiar with the French press. It’s a tool that allows you to have a cup of rich and delicious coffee without too much effort while making it. How does it work?

Compared to common coffee makers, also known as “drip” brewers, that heat water and make the steam disperse it over ground coffee, a French press requires you to put ground coffee directly in hot water and press the plunger to filter it. It’s a straightforward process and you can’t make a mistake.

Coffee from the French press is strong and indulgent, completely different from other types of coffee. Given that you mix together coffee and water, it’s easy to get a uniform extraction. still, you need to be careful not to have the coffee beans ground too finely and you shouldn’t let the coffee and water steep for a long time.

The French press filter is made from metal and it allows the oils from the coffee to pass through it, unlike paper filters, providing the coffee a thick body. Have you tried French press coffee yet?
