How to Create the Best Lamb Stew

A great lamb stew should be wholesome, hearty and utterly delicious. Avoid tough meat or flavorless broth by following this simple, fail safe recipe, which can be left in the slow cooker for several hours to develop it’s rich, complex flavors.

Ingredients (to serve 4):

  • 4 lamb steaks, cut into chunks
  • 6 large potatoes, halved
  • 3 carrots, cubed
  • 1 leek, finely sliced
  • 1 beef stock cube
  • 2 cups of water
  • 2 tablespoons of oil
  • 1 onion
  • 1 teaspoon of salt
  • 1 teaspoon of ground black pepper

Instructions

  1. Fry the onion and the leek in the oil until soft and thoroughly cooked.
  2. Add all of the ingredients to your slow cooker, set the heat for medium to high and the timer for 4 hours, place the lid on and let the slow cooker do its work!
  3. Serve the stew as it is, alongside some steamed greens, or alongside some rice.
