Samosas are truly one of the world’s best foods. Their crunchy, crispy exterior combined with the soft, flavorful spiced filling just makes for a perfect appetizer or snack. And with this easy samosa recipe, you can even make samosas at home without too much fuss or stress. Read on to learn how to make them.

Ingredients

  • Potatoes
  • Oil
  • Onion
  • Green peas
  • Curry powder
  • Chili powder
  • Sugar
  • Salt
  • Egg
  • Spring roll wrappers

Directions

Prep your filling by peeling and boiling your potatoes until they’re cooked. Smash your green peas and when your potatoes are cooked, drain, cool, and mash them, too. Dice your onion.

Now you can cook the filling mixture. Heat up oil over medium heat, sauteeing onions until fragrant. Add the potatoes, green peas, curry powder, chili powder, sugar, and salt. Cook until the flavors are well-mixed.

Cut your spring roll wrappers into triangles. Scoop one teaspoon of the filling onto each spring roll triangle, brushing the outer edges of the wrapper with egg white, folding, and pinching the edges until tightly sealed. Repeat until you’ve used up all the filling.

Deep fry the samosas at 350 degrees Fahrenheit until golden brown, being sure not to overcrowd the fryer. Remove from the oil and drain on a paper towel-lined plate. Serve and enjoy!
