This dreamy, creamy French toast is what breakfast dreams are made of. Buttery brioche is the secret to the best French toast you’ve ever had.
Ingredients:
- 4 thick slices of fresh brioche bread
- 3 eggs
- 1/4 cup whole milk
- 2 tsp pure vanilla extract
- 1 tsp cinnamon
- 1 tbsp granulated sugar
- Pinch of salt
- 1 tbsp butter for cooking
- Maple syrup
- Fresh berries
Instructions:
- In a large baking dish, beat the eggs together well. Whisk in the milk, sugar, vanilla, cinnamon, and salt.
- Layer the brioche slices on top of the egg mixture in the baking dish.
- Allow the bread to soak for 2 minutes. Gently flip the bread using a spatula and allow to soak for an additional 2 minutes. The bread should soak up almost all of the egg mixture.
- Heat a large skillet on medium heat. Melt the butter on the pan.
- Carefully transfer the soaked brioche slices into the skillet. Cook until the bottom is golden brown – about 3 minutes.
- Flip the slices and cook until the other side is also golden brown, about 3 minutes.
- Remove the French toast from the pan and top with maple syrup and fresh berries. Serve immediately.
