Not Keen on Candy This Halloween? Try These Treats Instead

Haunted houses and ghost stories are great, but if we’re being honest, our favorite part of Halloween is the candy! Sweets are such a part of Halloween tradition that little kids have been threatening to trash houses for not receiving them for centuries.

If you don’t like keeping candy in hand, don’t worry. These healthier alternatives are delicious enough to prevent your house from being egged.

Chocolate Turtles

A fan favorite in many a Halloween hoard, Turtles have that sweet, salty, and crunchy thing going on. Make your own using dates (which include fibre FYI), dark chocolate (packed with antioxidants), and pecans, and don’t feel guilty going back for more than one.

Sweet & Sour Grapes

If the thought of fruit posing as candy makes you groan, hold on for just a second. These grapes make such a good dupe for Sour Patch Kids that you’ll forget they’re actually healthy! Use lime juice and sherbet to get these babies as tart as your tongue will handle.

Peanut Butter Balls

No one can resist a Reese’s Cup, and these taste just the same. Peanut butter and chocolate is always a winning combination, and you can even throw in some protein powder to make them a good snack for the gym!
