Fall is the season of change, so it’s a better time than ever to switch up your eating habits and add some fun new foods to the menu. Pinterest is a great source of inspiration, and their fall forecast includes some fun food trends, from rooted flavors to jelly desserts.
Pinterest singled out three defining food trends that we’ll be seeing everywhere this fall, explaining they offer a delicious and exciting culinary journey for the season.
“People are increasingly incorporating earthy ingredients, like morel mushrooms and pistachio butter, to add depth and richness to their dishes. They are also experimenting with jelly flavors for a sweet and satisfying treat. Interest in “Japanese foods” is increasing, with searches on the rise for dishes like chicken karaage and katsu curry,” reads Pinterest’s press release.
“Rooted flavors” emerged as one of the most delicious new trends due to a spike in searches for morel and portobello mushrooms, ginger spice, quinoa pudding, pistachio butter, and Ashwagandha.
Japanese cuisine is also having a moment on Pinterest, especially easy mochi recipes, tempura sushi, deconstructed sushi bowls, chicken karaage, and katsu curry.
In terms of desserts, jelly will be going stronger than ever this fall, with plum, blueberry, peach, black raspberry, and milk emerging as the most popular flavors.
