‘Nice cream’ is a recent invention that turns frozen bananas into a delicious ice cream-like treat! A ripe frozen banana actually has a really similar texture to ice cream and is obviously much healthier for you. The other great thing about it is that it’s vegan and super easy to make at home especially compared to regular ice cream! Here’s how to make many flavors, but feel free to experiment on your own!
Mint Chocolate Chip
To make this flavor, put two frozen ripe bananas in a food processor or high-speed blender with 1/8 teaspoon of peppermint extract, a pinch of salt, and either spirulina or some spinach for the green color. After blending or processing until smooth, fold in chocolate chips or cacao nibs.
For this flavor, you just need a few bananas, a pinch of salt, and 2-3 teaspoons of peanut butter. If you have a nut allergy or don’t have peanut butter, use whatever nut butter or seed butter you have on hand.
To make a simple but classic flavor, put three bananas into your processor or blender. Add a pinch of salt, 1/4 teaspoon of vanilla extract, and three tablespoons of cocoa powder. If you want to sweeten it up a bit, add in a bit of maple syrup or honey.
