There’s something magical about making pizza at home, especially when it starts with homemade dough. Forget the store-bought stuff—creating your own dough is easier than you think and tastes so much better. Ready to learn the secrets to perfect pizza dough? Let’s get rolling!

Ingredients:

  • 2 ¼ teaspoons (1 packet) active dry yeast
  • 1 ½ cups warm water (110°F)
  • 3 ½ to 4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 2 teaspoons sugar
  • 2 teaspoons salt

Instructions:

  1. Sprinkle the yeast over warm water and let it sit for 5 minutes until frothy.
  2. Add sugar, olive oil, and salt, then stir.
  3. Gradually mix in 3 ½ cups of flour, one cup at a time, until a sticky dough forms.
  4. Knead on a floured surface for 8-10 minutes until smooth and elastic. Shape into a ball, and place in a lightly oiled bowl. Cover the bowl with a clean kitchen towel and let the dough rise in a warm area for about 1 ½ hours, or until it has doubled in size.
  5. Punch down the dough, divide it into two portions, and stretch each into a 12-inch circle.
  6. Preheat the oven to 475°F.
  7. Add toppings and bake for 10-12 minutes until the crust is golden and the cheese is melted.
