There’s a Diner That’ll Charge You If You Ask Stupid Questions

We can imagine that restaurant workers hear a lot of questions on a daily basis, but we never thought someone would come up with a way to actually charge for it. This photo of a receipt proves that it finally happened.

Tom’s Diner from Colorado apparently charges guests 38 cents for “1 stupid question” asked. A receipt from the restaurant shows that Seat 1 had 1 side mashed potatoes for $2.99, 1 chicken tenders basket for $9, and 1 stupid question for $.38. Seeing the items next to each other makes the situation pretty hilarious.

We’re now curious to know how they came up with that exact price, or what makes a question stupid. We can imagine that even a regular question can be considered stupid if someone is hearing it on a daily basis, and it’s not easy to be objective about the seriousness of a question. And if they have to charge for something as unusual as this, 38 cents seems like a reasonable amount!
