Ingredients

For this sauce, the most important ingredients are brown sugar and soy sauce. Those are the main flavors that come out, but ground ginger, honey, and garlic all help it along.

Method

  1. In a medium saucepan over medium heat, combine water, brown sugar, soy sauce, honey, chopped garlic, and ground ginger. Mix well so everything is incorporated.
  2. While that cooks, make a cornstarch slurry. This is a thickening agent that will help the sauce not be as runny. All you have to do is combine some cornstarch with water and that’s all!
  3. Pour the slurry in and continue to stir the sauce until it’s as thick as you like. You can also thin it out with a little water.
  4. Store in a jar for up to 2 weeks!
