The human body battles to function without enough sleep, but that doesn’t always mean that it comes easy. Overthinking, too much caffeine, or eating a heavy meal can all make dreamland feel like an out-of-reach destination. If you find yourself on the verge of counting sheep, try drinking this instead.
Ingredients:
- 1 ½ cups coconut milk
- 1 ½ cups almond milk
- 1 ½ teaspoon ground turmeric
- ¼ teaspoon ground ginger
- ¼ teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1 pinch ground black pepper
- 1 tablespoon maple syrup/honey
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
Instructions:
- Add the coconut milk, almond milk, turmeric, ginger, cinnamon, black pepper, vanilla, and honey or maple syrup to a small saucepan.
- Whisk to combine and warm over medium heat. Heat until hot to the touch but not boiling (about 4 minutes), whisking frequently.
- Turn off the heat and taste to adjust the flavor to your taste. For extra intensity, add more turmeric or ginger.
- Serve immediately, with some cinnamon on top if you’d like. Leftovers can be stored, covered, in the refrigerator for 2-3 days.
