This is the Only Chocolate Cake Recipe You Will Ever Need

Chocolate cake is a classic dessert that everyone should know how to make. Even though it’s a little harder to make than regular cake (since the darkness of chocolate makes it hard to know when it’s done), this recipe comes out perfectly every time and has a delicious, super chocolaty flavor that’s perfect for any occasion.

Recipe

  1. Take out the bowl from your stand mixer and sift the dry ingredients right into it. The dry ingredients are 1 3/4 cups of all purpose flour, 2 cups of sugar, 3/4 cups of dark chocolate powder, 1 teaspoon of baking powder, 2 teaspoons of baking soda, and 1 teaspoon of salt.
  2. Put the bowl back on the mixer and mix until they dry ingredients are combined.
  3. While the mixer is running on low, add in 1 cup of buttermilk, 1/2 cup of vegetable oil, 2 eggs beaten slightly, and 1 teaspoon of vanilla.
  4. After it’s started to mix, add in 1 cup of hot brewed coffee into the mixing bowl. This makes it taste super chocolaty and really you can’t detect the coffee.
  5. Pour the batter into 2 8-inch parchment paper lined cake pans that have also been greased and floured.
  6. Bake at 350 F for 35-40 minutes and then allow them to cool before you frost with whatever type of frosting you like!
