Try This Easy Indian Dessert

If you’re looking for an easy, yummy dessert, then you are at the right place! Badam Kheer is a traditional Indian dessert made with blanched almond paste, milk and saffron. And the best thing is that it can be eaten all year round; it can be served hot and cold. Check out the recipe below.

Ingredients

  • ½ Cup Badam aka Almonds
  • 4 Cups Full Cream Milk
  • 10-15 strands Saffron
  • ½ Teaspoon Cardamom Powder
  • ¼ Cup Sugar

The Process

Before you start cooking, you must soak the badam (almond) in water for about 5-6 hours. Then, peel of the skin, grind it and make a smooth paste; add some milk if needed.

Afterward, pour the milk into a bowl and bring it to boil. Add the saffron and let it simmer on low heat until it is reduced to almost half. Don’t forget to stir! Then, add the badam paste and cook it until it thickens to the desired consistency. Lastly, add the cardamom powder and cook it for another 5 minutes. Serve it as desired; hot or cold.

For decoration, you add some saffron strands.
