Yet, there is nothing worse than heading to your freezer, where you know you have a stash of chocolate chip cookie dough with a caramel swirl, only to discover that it is rock hard!

Before you begin cursing your freezer, we have found a hack that will make it all okay.

The ingenious method is courtesy of America’s Test Kitchen.

All you have to do is grab a knife and run it under hot water.

Now that it has the power of a lightsaber, slice the frozen treat both across and downwards to form squares.
