Bread Pudding is the Answer to Stale Bread

Stale bread is so sad, and if you’re done with making crostini or croutons out of it, this is the recipe for you! Bread pudding is an incredibly easy dessert to whip together, and you really need so few ingredients to make a really good one. So if you want to use your bread for something sweet and super satisfying, this bread pudding recipe is the answer to your prayers.

Ingredients

  • 10 slices of stale bread, 1 whole baguette, or any other type of bread of similar measurements 
  • 1/2 cup of raisins or any other type of dried fruit
  • 3 eggs
  • 1 3/4 cups of light cream
  • 1/4 cup of brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup of white sugar
  • 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract
  • 1 teaspoon of ground cinnamon
  • 2 tablespoons of melted unsalted butter

Recipe

  1. Preheat the oven to 350 F and lightly grease a baking dish with butter.
  2. Cut up the bread into cubes and put them into the baking dish.
  3. In a medium-sized bowl, combine the eggs, cream, sugars, cinnamon, and vanilla and whisk so they’re all incorporated.
  4. Pour this mixture over the cubed bread, add in the raisins, and toss to coat.
  5. Pour over the melted butter and bake for 35-40 minutes or until a knife comes out clean from the center.
