Would You Eat Lab-Grown Ice Cream?

Many people are avoiding dairy and their reasons are different. Whether it’s lactose intolerance, veganism, or some dietary restrictions, people are quite sick of having ice cream that tastes like chemicals.

But now, finally, things are changing for the better.

Perfect Day is a startup from the Bay Area that’s changing the non-dairy ice cream game.

They recently released three flavors of ice cream that taste amazing despite not having any dairy in it – Vanilla Salted Fudge, Vanilla Blackberry Toffee, and Milky Chocolate.

The secret to their taste in the same proteins that are found in cow dairy, but this time they are grown in a lab.

Co-founders Ryan Pandya and Perumal Gandhi are vegan bioengineers with a background in medicine.

“The two of us started scratching our heads and wondering, what if we just apply that same exact technology that’s been around for half a century to make the world’s most in-demand, highest-quality protein?” Pandya told Fast Company.
