You Won’t Believe These Fried American Fair Foods

There are no two American traditions that are more quintessential than fried foods and state fairs. These carnival-like celebrations are often a testing ground for some of the more innovative chefs around to try new fried food creations.

Take a look at four fried foods available in America that you might not have known were possible.

Fried Butter

Many people are probably in shock that this is even possible, but yes, it’s available at several state fairs. Frozen butter is dipped in dough and then fried for a short time so that it doesn’t completely turn into liquid. This dish isn’t recommended for those with high cholesterol.

Fried Latte

Whoever said that coffee drinks couldn’t be fried? At the Texas State Fair, one booth is offering up a fried version of a latte which gives a whole new twist on a caffeine rush. It’s weird, but yes, it exists!

Fried Twinkies

These American snack cakes are beloved throughout the country as junk food and are fried up at several state fairs. We’re not going to lie: we’ve tried these, and while horribly unhealthy, they’re actually delicious.

Fried Jellybeans

How is this possible, you might ask? Well, jellybeans are wrapped inside of a batter and then dipped in hot oil. Yes, the jellybeans melt, but they give an artificial fruity flavor to the fried dough. So weird.
