There are two reasons this snack is called Christmas crack. One: it is made using several crackers. And two: it is totally addictive. Be prepared to have requests for more!
Ingredients:
- 40 salted crackers
- 2 cups chocolate chips
- 1 cup butter
- 1 cup dark brown sugar
- Nuts, candy, or sprinkles (optional)
Instructions:
- Preheat the oven to 350F.
- Line a large baking sheet with aluminum foil and spread the crackers out in a single layer.
- Melt the butter and brown sugar over medium-high heat in a small saucepan. Bring to a boil, then reduce the heat to medium and continue to boil for 5 minutes while stirring occasionally. Quickly pour over the crackers and spread to cover completely.
- Bake for 5 minutes in the oven. Then remove and sprinkle the chocolate chips on top. Allow them to melt slightly and spread them out evenly.
- Add any additional toppings you desire.
- Place in the fridge for around 2 hours to harden. Once firm, break into pieces.
