Burritos are great because they’re versatile and filling. But, as delicious as they are, they can sometimes feel out-of-place on the dinner table. Our tip is to prepare them as usual, then finish them as you would traditional saucy and cheesy enchiladas.

First things first – make some burritos. Traditional fillings include taco-seasoned ground beef or shredded chicken, pinto beans, rice, cheese and salsa. For a vegetarian spin, try cumin-roasted sweet potatoes in place of the meat. Whatever you choose, roll those burritos as you normally would, then place them seam side down in a lightly-oiled overproof skillet.

Don’t Forget to Blanket those Burritos

Pour a 10 oz can of enchilada sauce over the rolled burritos, then cover it deep with 2 cups of shredded cheese. Place the burrito-filled skillet in a 350-degree pre-heated oven and bake for 8-10 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and the burritos are warmed through.

Finish off the dish by bringing in some cool and fresh ingredients to contrast the warmth and cheesiness. Chunks of fresh avocado, chopped cilantro, sliced green onions and lime wedges provide punches of flavor that’ll wow your family.

And, before you dig in, take out the nice napkins. This is a sit-down dinner!
