BBQ Pizza is a Great Change from Tradition

Barbecue anything is always going to be delicious, and this pizza is no exception. Instead of using a traditional red sauce for the base and other classic ingredients, this pizza is going to be loaded with hearty ingredients and flavors that are savory and slightly sweet. You can also make this pizza vegetarian quite easily. So if you’re getting hungry, wait until you recipe the recipe.

Recipe

  1. Take store-bought pizza dough and roll it out on a floured surface.
  2. Put the dough on a baking sheet that has a little olive oil on the bottom so it can bake from underneath.
  3. Spread either homemade or store-bought BBQ sauce all over the pizza dough for the base.
  4. Sprinkle over mozzarella cheese or whatever cheese you want, like pepper jack or Monterrey jack.
  5. Then, add on strips of red and green bell peppers and mushrooms to add more body to the pizza.
  6. If you want to keep the pizza vegetarian, drizzle over a little olive oil over the top of the pizza and put it straight into the oven.
  7. If not, dice up some chicken and cover it in more BBQ sauce and place all over the pizza.
  8. Finally, put the pizza into the oven at 450 F for about 10 minutes and enjoy!

HOLY MOLY!!!! I’ve just died and gone to low carb pizza heaven. This low carb BBQ Chicken Pizza is awesome! 😋 What really makes the pizza amazing is the crust. It’s not too dry or greasy. The texture and flavor reminds me a lot of a traditional pizza crust. Check my stories for some live action if this goodness. Here’s the recipe 🔽 Ingredients: Fathead Dough Crust * 1.5 cups shredded mozzarella cheese * 1 oz cream cheese * 3/4 cup almond flour * dash of salt and garlic powder * 1 large egg (beaten) BBQ Chicken Toppings * Sugar Free BBQ sauce (I used @ghughessugarfree) * Shredded chicken * Shredded mozzarella cheese * Thinly sliced purple onion * Fresh Cilantro Instructions * Preheat the oven to 425F. * In a microwave-safe bowl, combine the mozzarella and cream cheese. * Microwave in 30 second intervals, stirring each time, until the cheeses are blended smooth. * Stir in the almond flour, salt, and garlic powder until smooth. * Add the egg to the bowl, and knead it into the dough either using a firm spatula, or by hand. At first it might seem like the egg won't blend, but it should with about 30 seconds of kneading. * Place the dough on a pieces of parchment paper and roll into the desired shape and thickness. (I recommend using parchment paper. Foil will cause the dough to cook differently.) * Prick the dough all over with a fork, then bake for about 7 minutes, until the dough is golden brown on the bottom and edges, but not yet brown on the top. * Flip the crust over, then top with BBQ Chicken toppings * Bake the pizza for an additional 7 minutes, to fully melt the cheese on top. * Top with fresh cilantro and ENJOY!
