Last year, Taco Bell announced their commitment to improving the quality and nutrition of their food. They were proud to reduce the sodium by 15% since 2006. They are now selling chicken that has been raised without antibiotics and are eliminating 40-ounce soda cups from their restaurants.

Taco Bell has recently expanded the use of cage-free eggs to all egg-recipes and plans are in the works to remove any additives and preservatives, where possible. By 2025, they are planning on reducing another 10% of sodium.

Taco Bell is one of the only fast food restaurants to seek for vegan-friendly and vegetarian menu options. Today it has 12 vegetarians items, all of which are under 480 calories and they also have a big variety of vegan options.

Of course, Taco Bell should not be your go-to spot when seeking healthy food, but this is in case fast food is the only option. Customers can now create well-balanced meals like two fresco soft tacos with shredded chicken for only 300 calories, instead of choosing the burger and fries for 470 calories.
