Great Healthy Afternoon Snack

Many of us find ourselves ravenous in the mid-afternoon. The problem is, we often reach for fatty, calorie-laden snacks. How about packing your own healthy snack instead.

Spirulina Popcorn

Ingredients

  • ¼ cup popping corn
  • 1 tablespoon + ¼ cup olive oil
  • 2 teaspoons garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon spirulina
  • 3 tablespoons nutritional yeast
  • ½ teaspoon salt flakes
  • ⅛ teaspoon cayenne pepper powder

Method

  1. Heat 1 tablespoon olive oil in a large pot on a medium-high heat.
  2. Test to see how hot the oil is by cooking two corn kernels until they pop. Then add the rest of the corn and pop it.
  3. Combine all the other ingredients in a large bowl, then add the popcorn and toss to distribute the seasoning
