Homemade Sweet Chili Sauce is Easy and Super Yummy!

Sweet chili sauce is as awesome item to keep in your pantry, because it combines so many great flavors and adds a lot to dishes without a lot of work. This homemade version is really easy to make and not only will keep your food extra exciting, but can be given as a gift that no one can resist.

Ingredients

For this chili sauce, you will obviously needs chili peppers! You can choose whatever you like, whether that’s Thai red chilis, red jalapeno peppers, Fresno peppers, you just need about 100 grams worth of them.

You will also need:
6 cloves of garlic
150 ml of water
100 grams of sugar
15 ml of white vinegar
15 ml of fish sauce or soy sauce
5 grams of cornstarch

Recipe

  1. Start by chopping up the chili peppers and garlic by hand, or doing it in a food processor.
  2. Over medium-high heat, combine the water, sugar, vinegar, and fish sauce or soy sauce. After about a minute, add in the chili and garlic and simmer everything together for about 5 minutes.
  3. While that cooks, combine the cornstarch with the same amount of water to make a cornstarch slurry. Pour that into the mixture after the 5 minutes has passed and whisk well.
  4. Turn off the heat, allow the sauce to cool, and then bottle it up!
