Making natural peanut butter at home is easier than you may think. And once you try it, you may never go back to the store-bought version. The freshness is hard to compete with. Plus, you can create your perfect texture, from extra crunchy to silky smooth.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups of roasted unsalted peanuts (you can use raw peanuts if preferred)
  • 1-2 tablespoons of oil
  • Pinch of salt

Instructions

  1. Start by preheating your oven to 350°F. Spread the peanuts evenly on a baking sheet and roast them for approximately 10-15 minutes or until golden brown. If using roasted unsalted peanuts, skip this step.
  2. Transfer the roasted peanuts to a high-powered food processor or blender. If you prefer a creamier texture, add a bit of oil at this stage. Also, add a pinch of salt for extra flavor if desired.
  3. Start blending the peanuts at a low speed, gradually increasing to high. Depending on the power of your blender or food processor, it may take several minutes.
  4. Check the consistency of the peanut butter. If it’s too thick, you can add a bit more oil and continue blending until you reach the texture you want.
  5. Transfer the freshly made peanut butter into an airtight jar or container and enjoy.
