Making natural peanut butter at home is easier than you may think. And once you try it, you may never go back to the store-bought version. The freshness is hard to compete with. Plus, you can create your perfect texture, from extra crunchy to silky smooth.
Ingredients
- 2 cups of roasted unsalted peanuts (you can use raw peanuts if preferred)
- 1-2 tablespoons of oil
- Pinch of salt
Instructions
- Start by preheating your oven to 350°F. Spread the peanuts evenly on a baking sheet and roast them for approximately 10-15 minutes or until golden brown. If using roasted unsalted peanuts, skip this step.
- Transfer the roasted peanuts to a high-powered food processor or blender. If you prefer a creamier texture, add a bit of oil at this stage. Also, add a pinch of salt for extra flavor if desired.
- Start blending the peanuts at a low speed, gradually increasing to high. Depending on the power of your blender or food processor, it may take several minutes.
- Check the consistency of the peanut butter. If it’s too thick, you can add a bit more oil and continue blending until you reach the texture you want.
- Transfer the freshly made peanut butter into an airtight jar or container and enjoy.
