Poached eggs are an awesome and easy way to switch up your morning routine. Poached eggs are also healthier than other types of eggs because you don’t need any type of oil or fat to cook them! Although it can seem intimidating, making them is actually easy than you think. And once you master them, you can use them for just about any dish.

Instructions

  1. Bring a pot of water to a light boil. It doesn’t need to be roaring.
  2. Crack as many eggs as you are planning to make into measuring cups or really small bowls. This will make it easier to get the eggs into the water quickly.
  3. Add in about 1 1/2 tablespoons of plain white vinegar to the water and use a slotted spoon to start stirring it around. The idea is to make a whirlpool effect so when the egg goes into the center the water continues to turn.
  4. When you’ve stirred quite a few times, carefully drop in the eggs and gently continue to stir the water for another minute or so until the egg is done.
  5. Carefully scoop out the eggs with a slotted spoon and place them on a paper towel to dry.
  6. Use on avocado toast, eggs benedict, or whatever else your heart desires!
