Looking For You Next Food Blog? Look No Further!

Food blogger Mandy Lee (known online as Lady and Pups) will steal your heart, thanks to her candid, down to earth approach to food making. Her beautifully curated Instagram page also helps.

Taiwan-born, Vancouver-raised, and slow-aged in New York, Lee decided to open her food blog after moving to Beijing. Now based in Hong Kong with her husband and a growing number of dog-children (hence the nickname Lady and Pups), her love of traveling and food is eminent in every recipe.

A recent recipe by Lee that caught our attention is her spaghetti in tomato sauce. Call us basic, but there’s nothing better and more comforting than a hot bowl of spaghetti.

“Spaghetti with tomato sauce is the oldest thing on the menu, yet, it can still be exciting with a twist,” writes Lee on her blog. “Whatever recipe of tomato sauce that you dug up from your ancestor’s grave should work fine, but I make mine with simply olive oil, garlic, fresh thyme, but most importantly, seasoned with fish sauce with a good pinch of sugar.”

According to Lee, the trick is to reduce the sauce down by 1/2, “because thick tomato sauces agree with me.” Another tip? “⁣Let your spaghetti that is still slightly under-cooked finish cooking inside the tomato sauce, allow proper introduction and chemistry between the two before pushing them onto the stage.”
