Make This Corn Quiche for Dinner!

A pashtida is the Israeli version of a quiche. It is a very traditional dish that is served on all sorts of occasions, especially with meals that are all dairy. Making it at home is super delicious and you can completely customize the fillings to have whatever you want. Here is a recipe for the base and for a filling, try it tonight and have something new at the table.

Ingredients

The main ingredients for this quiche are the eggs. You need them both for the egg whites to be whipped as well as the egg yolks. You will also need a good kind of cheese for the filling, most people use Muenster but you can use whatever you want.

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven while you melt some butter in a pot.
  2. Add flour and mix it with the butter, then add milk and continue to mix until it’s smooth.
  3. Add in egg yolks one by one and mix well after each addition.
  4. Add in corn, nutmeg, the shredded cheese of your choice, salt, and pepper.
  5. Whip the egg whites in a separate bowl until fluffy and then fold into the mixture.
  6. Grease a circular dish and pour in the pashtida mixture into. Put a few more slices of cheese on top.
  7. Bake at 375F for 45 minutes. Enjoy!
