Let’s be honest, part of the joy of watching Masterchef Australia is the food; the other part is the judges.

George Calombaris, Matt Preston, and Gary Mehigan have been a part of the series since its inception in 2009 and have gained quite a following for their warmth, humor, and cooking expertise.

However, they will not be a part of the show going forward.

With the 11th season of Masterchef Australia coming to an end, Network 10 announced that the trio would not be back for season 12.

“Despite months of negotiation, [Network] 10 has not been able to reach a commercial agreement that was satisfactory to Matt, Gary, and George,” said Network 10’s chief executive, Paul Anderson. “We would like to thank Gary, George and Matt for their contribution over the past 11 years.”

All three judges confirmed the news on social media.

Sadly, it appears the judges are the ones going home.
