  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter
  • 3/4 cup sugar
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp espresso powder
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 3 eggs
  • 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder

For Glaze

  • 1 cup chocolate chips, semisweet or bittersweet
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F. Take an 8” round cake pan and grease it lightly.
  2. Heat chocolate chips and butter in the microwave until melted. Stir and transfer to a mixing bowl.
  3. Add sugar, salt, espresso powder, and vanilla extract. Stir everything together.
  4. Add eggs and beat until you get a smooth mixture. Finally, add the cocoa powder.
  5. Transfer the batter into the greased pan.
  6. Bake for 25 minutes until the top creates a thin crust. Remove from the oven and let cool for 5 minutes.
  7. Prepare the glaze by melting the chocolate, then add heavy cream. Combine and leave for 5 minutes to rest. Stir again.
  8. Get the cake out of the pan and spread the glaze over it, letting it drip over the sides. Leave it to chill for several hours before serving.
