This chocolate cake is made with a little sugar and no flour and it’s a perfectly safe treat you can indulge in every once in a while. What’s even better, the recipe is rather simple and doesn’t require any special cooking skills, which means basically anyone can make it. Enjoy!
Ingredients
For Cake
- 1 cup chocolate chips, semisweet or bittersweet
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter
- 3/4 cup sugar
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 1 tsp espresso powder
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 3 eggs
- 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
For Glaze
- 1 cup chocolate chips, semisweet or bittersweet
- 1/2 cup heavy cream
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 375°F. Take an 8” round cake pan and grease it lightly.
- Heat chocolate chips and butter in the microwave until melted. Stir and transfer to a mixing bowl.
- Add sugar, salt, espresso powder, and vanilla extract. Stir everything together.
- Add eggs and beat until you get a smooth mixture. Finally, add the cocoa powder.
- Transfer the batter into the greased pan.
- Bake for 25 minutes until the top creates a thin crust. Remove from the oven and let cool for 5 minutes.
- Prepare the glaze by melting the chocolate, then add heavy cream. Combine and leave for 5 minutes to rest. Stir again.
- Get the cake out of the pan and spread the glaze over it, letting it drip over the sides. Leave it to chill for several hours before serving.
