These vegan burgers are really out of this world, thanks to all the delicious flavors and spices that go into them. If you’re craving some comfort food with a healthy twist, this is the meal for you.
Instructions
- Start by cutting the cauliflower into thin steaks by peeling the leaves off of the head and cutting down the center.
- In a bowl, combine 1/2 cup all-purpose flour, 1/2 cup non-dairy milk, 1 teaspoon smoked and regular paprika powder, and 1 teaspoon garlic powder. Add in a splash of water and mix well.
- Dip the cauliflower into the batter and then cover with bread crumbs.
- Bake at 350 F turning halfway through.
- While the cauliflower cooks, bring together 1/2 cup of ketchup in a small pot with 1/2 teaspoon of black pepper, smoked paprika, onion powder, garlic powder chili powder, 3 tablespoons of apple cider vinegar, 1 tablespoon of white vinegar, 1 tablespoon of vegan Worcestershire sauce, 1 tablespoon of mustard, and finally, 1/3 cup of water at the end.
- Bring to a boil and then down to a simmer while the cauliflower cooks.
- Once the cauliflower is done, cover the steaks in the vegan bbq sauce and cook for 15 more minutes.
- Finally, build the burger! Put the cauliflower onto a bun with lettuce, tomato, vegan mayo, and pickles!
