Spruce Things Up In The Kitchen With This Black Bean Soup

Ingredients

For this black bean soup you should get:
4 (15 1/2 oz) cans black beans
6 pressed garlic cloves
2 chopped medium onions
2 tablespoons ketchup
10 finely chopped slices bacon
1 bunch cilantro
1 tablespoon chili powder
1 (14 1/2 oz) can reduced-sodium chicken broth
2 teaspoons Worcestershire sauce
juice of 1/2 lime
1 1/2 cups canned chopped tomatoes
kosher salt
freshly ground black pepper

For the garnish, you can use sour cream, scallions, and cheddar cheese.

Instructions

Before you start, drain the black beans but don’t rinse them.

The first step of the recipe is to cook the bacon for 4 minutes, then add the onions. Leave the pot on for 4 more minutes. Now you can include the garlic and cook for 1 minute. After that add in the tomatoes, broth, Worcestershire sauce, ketchup, and chili powder.

Start stirring the soup and pour the black beans. Increase the heat to high and wait for the black bean soup to boil. Wait for 10 minutes and then add salt and pepper.

While you’re waiting you can clean the cilantro and cut it. Add it in the soup after it’s done, and let it stay on the stove for 5 more minutes. Pour the lime juice before serving it.
