Sweet Potato Will Solve You Low-Carb Breakfast Worries

If you are looking to lose some of the carbs in your breakfast and replace them with lots of vitamins and minerals, sweet potato toast is what you need in your life. To make the base, all you need to cut them lengthwise into thin pieces or use a mandoline to do the job. Then, brush them with some olive or coconut oil, salt, and pepper, and roast them until they are soft and just started to brown. Once you have the base, let them cool so the toppings won’t melt and you can make them totally customizable! Here are just a few ideas.

Peanut Butter

Peanut butter is a great spread on your sweet potato toast because it compliments the sweetness, and adds protein to your breakfast as well! Spread it on and add whatever you want on top, like nuts, bananas, or keep it plain and enjoy.

Happy #toasttuesday ! These sweet potato toasts were more like healthy dessert nachos, HEAVVEENNNNN 😍🤤 Sometimes it’s worth giving into a sweet tooth & having a little candy or somethin, but did you know that indulging in heavily processed goodies will often worsen cravings & leave you wanting more?! 😱That’s what they’re chemically designed to do! One of many reasons I prefer to satisfy a sweet tooth NATURALLY 😌🙌🏽 (& trust it tastes as good if not better! 😉) Whole natural foods will obvi offer health benefits (duh) but in terms of satisfying cravings, they’re more effective bc they will be more satiating. This is due to volume, fiber, & bc it’s more work for your body to digest than heavily processed foods. There’s also less of an insulin spike with no (or minimal) added sugars. My toppings also included a lot of healthy fats, which are slower digesting👌🏽 👉🏽Portioning is still key even with health foods- I only did a couple grams of each topping. Had I gone with full serving sizes of each it would’ve been enough fats for a lifetime 😹 toppings outlined below! 👇🏽 🍭”SAUCES”- @barneybutter Cocoa n Coconut Almond Butter, @kitehillfoods Vegan Plain Unsweetened Almond Yogurt (needs seasonings mixed in!!!) 🍭”SPRINKLES”- Unsweetened Coconut Shavings, Shaved Almonds, Dried Golden Raisins 🍭FLAVORS- Cinnamon, Nutmeg, Unsweetened Cocoa Powder, & @flavorgod Buttery Cinnamon Roll Seasoning 👉🏽That unsweetened almond yogurt is nottt tasty on its own so make sure you mix in some spices! 😝

Avocado

Regular avocado toast has nothing on sweet potato avocado toast. The creaminess of the avocado takes the sweet potato to the next level, and you will not be disappointed. Whether you want to leave it plain, cover it in chia seeds, or pour over some sriracha, everything simply tastes good.
