Tea Sandwiches: a Kids’ Party Favorite

Whatever kind of kids’ party you’re throwing, you’ll need something savory for your little guests to fill up on instead of all those sugar-filled foods.

Making a Tea Sandwich

Toast a slice of bread. Cut off the crusts, and cut in half vertically. Spread each rectangle with whatever condiments you choose, then with proteins or vegetables for a delicious, easy-to-eat treat.

You can fill your tea sandwiches with just about anything, like peanut butter and jelly, or turkey and mayonnaise. But why not try one of these…

Princess Party Tea Sandwiches

Spread the toast with strawberry or raspberry jam and butter. You can also butter them and add thinly-sliced cucumbers for a dainty little finger sandwich.

Mermaid or Pirate Party Tea Sandwiches

For a sea-themed party, why not try cooked fish sticks and mayonnaise, or tuna mayonnaise salad with chopped pickles.

Halloween Party

For a Halloween or fall harvest party, add crunchy apples to your tea sandwiches. Try spreading the toast with mayonnaise, then add a slice of turkey, a thick slice of apple, then the other slice of toast. Otherwise, you could spread the toast with peanut butter and top with slices of apple.
