Who said that appetizers have to be complicated? Some high-quality bread and a bit of olive oil for dipping can be an overwhelmingly satisfying experience. But if you want to take it up a notch and experience a flavor explosion, consider upgrading your oil by turning it into a decadent dipping sauce.
Ingredients:
- 1/2 cup olive oil
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 4 cloves of garlic, minced
- 1/3 cup chopped parsley
- 1 1/2 tablespoons aged balsamic vinegar
Instructions:
- Pour the extra virgin olive oil into a medium-sized bowl. The quality of the olive oil is crucial, as it’s the base of your dip. Look for oils with a harvest date and opt for those that come in dark bottles to ensure freshness and quality.
- Stir in the freshly grated Parmesan cheese to the olive oil.
- Add the minced garlic and parsley (finely chopped) to the mixture.
- Sprinkle in flaky salt to taste.
- Drizzle 1 tablespoon of aged balsamic vinegar over the mixture.
- Stir all the ingredients until well combined. Let the dip sit for a few minutes before serving to allow the flavors to meld.
- Serve in a shallow bowl or plate that makes dipping easy.
