The Perfect Oil for Dipping Bread

Who said that appetizers have to be complicated? Some high-quality bread and a bit of olive oil for dipping can be an overwhelmingly satisfying experience. But if you want to take it up a notch and experience a flavor explosion, consider upgrading your oil by turning it into a decadent dipping sauce. 

Ingredients:

  • 1/2 cup olive oil
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese 
  • 4 cloves of garlic, minced
  • 1/3 cup chopped parsley
  • 1 1/2 tablespoons aged balsamic vinegar

Instructions:

  1. Pour the extra virgin olive oil into a medium-sized bowl. The quality of the olive oil is crucial, as it’s the base of your dip. Look for oils with a harvest date and opt for those that come in dark bottles to ensure freshness and quality.
  2. Stir in the freshly grated Parmesan cheese to the olive oil. 
  3. Add the minced garlic and parsley (finely chopped) to the mixture. 
  4. Sprinkle in flaky salt to taste. 
  5. Drizzle 1 tablespoon of aged balsamic vinegar over the mixture.
  6. Stir all the ingredients until well combined. Let the dip sit for a few minutes before serving to allow the flavors to meld. 
  7. Serve in a shallow bowl or plate that makes dipping easy.
