Is there anything more American than a cold bottle of beer? Americans love beer, drinking it by the gallon and pledging their devotion to macro lagers and craft ales alike.

Despite the recent entrance of mass-produced craft beer to the market, American consumers still prefer mostly the old standbys. Here’s a look at the most popular beers in the United States.

5. Corona Extra

The fifth most popular beer in the US is from south of the border. This Mexican lager is reminiscent of the beach and beloved when served with a lime.

4. Miller Lite

Miller Lite, a light lager sold by a Milwaukee, Wisconsin-based company, is another American favorite. It’s known for being light and easy to drink.

3. Budweiser

Budweiser’s non-light edition comes in at third on the list. One of the quintessential American beers, Budweiser markets itself as the “King of Beers” due to its smooth, beechwood-aged lager character.

2. Coors Light

Coors Light is brewed using Rocky Mountain water in the American state of Colorado, and served in containers whose mountains turn blue when the beer has reached the temperature at which it’s meant to be drunk.

1. Bud Light

Budweiser’s light beer cousin is the most popular beer in the United States. It might not be the most overwhelming beer in terms of taste, but you can’t argue against its popularity at summer barbecues and sporting events.
