These Are the Worst Foods to Eat Before Bed

You already know that eating before bed is not recommended. Loading up on food in the evening before you go to sleep can make sleep harder and, depending on what you eat, it’s likely you’ll wake up several times to drink water which will completely ruin your sleep. Some foods are worse than others, so if you absolutely must snack before bed, at least avoid these foods.

Tomatoes

Tomatoes and other acidic foods can turn your night into hell if you have acid reflux problems (or if you’re pregnant).

Donuts

Fried foods that are also high in sugar are hard to digest and can cause blood sugar reactions. You definitely don’t want that before bed.

Chocolate

Chocolate contains caffeine and can prevent you from falling asleep if you snack on it late in the evening.

Spicy Foods

You never know how spicy foods and condiments will affect your digestive system but if you eat them before bed, you’re definitely increasing the chance of something going very badly.

Pizza

Pizza contains several things that are bad to eat before bed – high-fat cheese, acidic tomato sauce, bread, and spicy meat.
