These Hot Chocolate Mix-Ins Will Elevate Your Drink

It’s the season to sit by the fire, snuggle in a blanket, and sip on hot chocolate. While hot chocolate is great on its own, you can make it even better with these mix-ins. Have you added any of these to your cup of cocoa?

Espresso

When you can’t figure out if you want coffee or hot chocolate, why not have both? Get your caffeine boost by adding a shot of espresso to your hot chocolate.

Peppermint

Peppermint is a winter staple and it tastes amazing in hot chocolate. Aff some crushed candy canes or peppermint candies, mint chocolate chips, and a drop of mint or peppermint extract into your hot chocolate.

Booze

What’s better than hot chocolate?—spiked hot chocolate. Add a splash of Kahlua, bourbon, whiskey, amaretto, or Bailey’s Irish cream to your cup.

Ice Cream

Hot chocolate doesn’t always have to be hot and it’s even better when you add some vanilla ice cream to it.

Pumpkin

If you already love pumpkin spice lattes, you’ll enjoy adding a bit of pumpkin spice to your cup of cocoa. You won’t need to head to Starbucks to get your pumpkin fix.
