This Gold Rush Cocktail Is Pure Heaven

Ladies and gentlemen, we officially found the perfect cocktail! It’s called Gold Rush and it’s sweet, delicious and super-refreshing.

All the ingredients are basic, and you’ll love it even more if you are a bourbon drinker. Don’t worry, even the ones who are not fans of bourbon will be amazed.

Ingredients

For the Gold Rush cocktail, you need:
0.75 oz lemon juice
2 oz bourbon
0.75 oz honey syrup

To prepare the honey syrup you should get 1 cup honey and 1 cup water.

Gold Rush Such a simple drink, and right up my alley…so I'm not sure what took me so long to finally try it. Basically a bourbon whiskey sour, but using honey syrup as the sweetening component instead of simple syrup. The bourbon and honey flavors play wonderfully off each other. I guzzled this guy down (luckily I wasn't using 100 proof bourbon here…). Purportedly its name comes from the way the ice cubes look like bricks of gold within the drink. I could happily drink these every night. If you like whiskey sours I highly recommend it (and straying from grenade sour mix..lemons and a sweetener are all you need!. Honey Syrup used here is 3 parts honey to 1 part water. Instructions

You can start off by making the honey syrup. It’s very simple and fast. First, get a saucepan and add the water and honey in it. Wait for the mixture to boil, and when it does leave it to simmer for 2 minutes.

Stir so that you can’t see the honey anymore. Wait for the honey syrup to cool down.

For the drink, you will need to get a cocktail shaker. Fill the shaker with ice, then add the ingredients. Shake it very well until you feel that it’s cold on the outside.

The usual type of glass you would serve this cocktail in is a rocks glass. Add one big ice cube in it, then pour the cocktail.
