Balsamic vinaigrette is an unassuming yet flavorful salad dressing that is common in many kitchens.

The tangy characteristics of the balsamic vinegar, which is its main component, complement the tender sweetness of vegetables such as mixed greens, spinach, and tomato perfectly.

Instead of buying balsamic vinaigrette the next time you head the the supermarket, why not try this simple recipe that you’ll love?

Ingredients

  • 4 parts balsamic vinegar
  • 1 part extra virgin olive oil
  • Fresh garlic, minced
  • Rosemary
  • Ground black pepper
  • Sage

Instructions

Start by pouring the balsamic vinegar and the extra virgin olive oil into the receptacle that will serve as the bottle for your dressing. You’ll want to close the receptacle and then shake it vigorously to combine the two things.

Next, add appropriate quantities of minced fresh garlic, rosemary, ground black pepper, and sage to the olive oil and balsamic vinegar mixture, according to taste. Shake again.

Let the mixture sit for a period of 12-24 hours, shaking on occasion to encourage the flavors to blend together.

After the mixture has sat for a sufficient amount of time, it’s ready to go into the refrigerator.

Refrigerate, and enjoy!
