Cereal is an easy way to start your day. All you have to do is add milk and you’re good to go. However, there always comes a time when you’re sick of the same cereal over and over again, and you just can’t push yourself to finish it. In those cases, don’t throw away perfectly cook food, just repurpose it! There are so many recipes where you can use cereal creatively, so here’s one to get you started.
Oven Fried Chicken
For this recipe, you will have to use corn flakes or anything generic that is like that. But, if you don’t have any, you can also use a mild cereal like cheerios or even Rice Krispies.
- Grease a baking sheet.
- Rinse and pat dry 3 1/2 pounds of chicken pieces.
- Whisk together 2 eggs and 1/4 cup milk in a bowl.
- Combine 2 1/2 cups of crushed cereal with 1/2 teaspoon pepper and 2 teaspoons of salt in a shallow bowl or dish.
- Dip the chicken into the wet mixture and then place into the dry. Cover with the breading well. You can do this and leave the chicken uncovered in the fridge for up to 3 hours before cooking.
- Place onto the baking sheet and bake at 350F for 45-60 minutes until golden brown
