You Can Roast That?

When people think of roasting, normally meat, certain vegetables, and potatoes come to mind. But, roasting is such a great way to pull out flavors of food without having to use too much fat to get there. If you are looking to try something new in the oven, try roasting these foods and be prepared for some surprises.

Cauliflower Leaves

The florets of the cauliflower are usually the star of the show when you’re cooking, not the actual leaves. But, they are completely edible and if you roast them with just olive oil and some sea salt, they turn out to be totally delicious. Try using the whole vegetable to not make any waste and to not waste your money!

Pumpkin Seeds

Especially during Halloween, so much pumpkin gets wasted once you scoop out the insides. Before you go ahead and throw away all that gunk inside of them, clean off the seeds and you can roast them for a snack!

Grapes

Sometimes people think even grilling fruit is a bit too far, but why not go all the way and roast them! Trying it with something like grapes makes them even sweeter because they become beautifully caramelized. Roast them at a high heat for about 10 minutes, and use them just as you would a fruit preserve.
