Olives are a controversial food item—some people love them and some hate them. If you love them, then you’ll know the joy of opening a jar of olives to nibble on. But sometimes those huge jars are too much to know what to do with and end up sitting in the fridge for weeks. If this sounds familiar, then here are some ideas for how to use them up.

Olive Tapenade

This tasty sauce made of olives is perfect on crusty bread or crackers. Ensure the olives are destoned and then add them to a blender along with some capers, fresh parsley, lemon juice, garlic, and olive oil. Blitz until it reaches your desired consistency and enjoy.

Pasta Sauce

Olives are ideal for adding to sauces as they bring so much salty flavor and a nice texture. Simply fry up some onion and then add garlic and olives, destoned and halved. Add some chopped tomatoes and seasoning and simmer for around 20 minutes. Stir through some pasta and add cheese and other veggies if you like.

Pizza Bread

If you’re ever craving pizza but don’t have the means to get one, then creating a simple pizza bread can be perfect. Just place tomato sauce, cheese, onion, and olives onto some bread and pop under the grill for 5 minutes for cheesy, crispy, bread with delicious olives on.
