Apple is Satisfying Our Food Cravings with its New Emojis

Need your spouse to pick up some garlic from the store?

Soon, you’ll be able to send an emoji to illustrate just that.

We live in an age where we express ourselves through digital pictures and Apple is making sure that our emoji storerooms are just as packed as our fridges.

The technology company has already created tiny animations of several types of fruit and vegetables, a croissant, salad, burger and fries, canned soup, dim sum, prawn tempura, a glass of wine, popcorn, and even a salt shaker.

To commemorate World Emoji Day, which falls annually on July 17th, Apple decided to share four more food emojis which will be part of their upcoming collection due out in the fall.

The list includes a bulb of garlic, a waffle, a plate of falafel, and a slab of butter.

The items may seem random, but the falafel joins its fellow street-food compatriots such as the taco, while Stranger Things fans will be pleased to see the waffle.

Apple is also reportedly considering letting testers change the color of their wine glass so you can swap your Merlot for a Chardonnay!
