Capable of baking, frying, roasting, and slow cooking in record time, instant pots really are like the Swiss Army knife of the kitchen. Still, these versatile appliances are not ideal for cooking everything. Here are some items to avoid cooking in an instant pot.

Burgers

While ground beef will not necessarily cause any damage to your pot, this is not the most ideal kitchen tool for cooking burgers. If you’re in search of a juicy and succulent burger, then throw your meat on a grill or let it simmer in a cast-iron pan.

Cookies

Typically, cookies should be gooey on the inside and crunchy on the outside. Not only will the moisture from your instant pot make the cookie batter spread out, but there isn’t really enough room to spread the cookies out.

Steaks

Much like is the case with burgers, steaks should be charred over a grill or barbeque in order to make it juicy and crispy.
