Banana peels might not seem like a normal ingredient to use, but they’re actually really delicious and work perfectly in this vegan pulled pork recipe!
Ingredients
2-3 organic banana peels
1 1/2 tablespoons of olive oil
1 tablespoon of hot paprika
3/4 teaspoon of chili powder
3/4 teaspoon of mustard powder
3/4 teaspoon of garlic powder
3/4 teaspoon of onion powder
1/4 teaspoon of cumin
2 tablespoons of bbq sauce
Pinch of salt
Recipe
Take the banana peels and cut off the top and bottom of them.
Using a spoon scoop the white part out of the peels and then take a fork and shred the peels so they become long strands.
Cut the strands half and then put them into a bowl. Add in the oil, all the seasonings, and salt, and mix it well.
Put a pan on the stove and heat it over medium heat, and then pour in the banana peel mixture.
Cook everything for 5-10 minutes so the peels aren’t mushy but soft enough to eat.
Then, pour in the bbq sauce and cook for another minute or two just so the sauce can adhere to the peels.
Toast a bun and put the peels down with some coleslaw or your favorite fixings and enjoy!
